WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

I can’t believe that we are more than halfway through August. Where has this summer gone? Hopefully, you all had a fabulous and fashionable break from the chaos of college, but now it’s time to ditch the beach and hit the books. Although going back to school and reuniting with your collegiate companions is exciting, it’s hard to say goodbye to your friends at home. From your first play date to your senior prom, these girls and guys have been by you side. How do you say goodbye?

Before the end of each break, my friends and I have a farewell brunch. Having a final get-together as a group provides a sense of closure, and the pancakes and French toast are great comfort foods. Apparently, I’m not the only one who believes in the importance of brunches. I spotted this Fashionista on her way to, you guessed it, brunch! Her outfit is perfect for a summer morning meetup, so I couldn’t resist snapping a few shots to share with all of you.

Our Fashionista’s light blue, lace dress is absolutely divine. The color of the dress complements the Fashionista’s long red hair, creating a look reminiscent of The Little Mermaid. I also love how this dress walks the line between classy and casual. The lace fabric gives the dress an elegant air, but the simple silhouette prevents our Fashionista from looking overdressed.

To incorporate this dress into a daytime look, our Fashionista is careful not to over accessorize. Her simple wedge sandals scream summer and draw attention to her long legs while her silver monogram necklace adds a hint of sparkle. To complete her look, our Fashionista sports a fresh-faced, minimalistic makeup look.

Before this summer comes to an end, grab your girls, throw on your favorite sundress and go get brunch!

One Simple Change: Going out for one last date with your summer sweetheart? To take your look from day to night, throw your hair in a messy bun and add a pair of dangling earrings. To really make an impression, add a daring clutch and pair of heels.
