WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

June 26th, 2015 at 2:00am

Ah, New York City in the summer. It’s hot on the streets, humid and moist in the subways and crowded with tourists, but there is one major upside to this time of the year and it’s a six letter word promising to fulfill your weekend desires. B-r-u-n-c-h.

Yes my friends, brunch. In New York this type of occasion isn’t your standard diner style sunny side up eggs and side of toast with butter, but instead it’s an event to save the date for. Typically on Sundays, brunch in New York City consists of bottomless mimosas, bellinis, bloody Mary’s (for those of you who are 21 and older) and for those who are just interested in food, loaded omelets, creamy eggs Benedict and even decadent french toast will tickle your fancy. Sorry if this is making you drool, but this is all more the reason as to why you should: 1. attend an NYC brunch and 2. make sure your outfit is appropriate for the occasion.

This Fashionista exemplifies a perfect ensemble for any type of brunch! The white on white gossamer fabric is great for the summer high temperatures as you may be sitting at an outside table or a rooftop depending on the atmosphere. Not to mention, this high low skirt and chiffon blouse can be dressed up or down for a dressier or more casual brunch dress code. This Fashionista has chosen a pair of black combat boots to dress down her look for a comfy, yet trendy look.

One Simple Change: Want to take this look from day to night? Simply add a pair of nude heels and chandelier earrings and voila, you’ve got yourself two uses for one outfit!
