WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

Sometimes an on-campus event may require you to step out of your element and dress a little differently than you normally would for class or hanging out. This Fashionista had to dress business casual for a brunch held by her Scholar’s Program where they practiced etiquette and met faculty members at the university. Dressing business casual in the summertime can seem challenging to some because you want to look appropriate, but you also don’t want to be too hot. This Fashionista did a great job of pulling that off with her knee-length sundress and a blazer.

A blazer has the ability to transform many different outfits to make them look more professional. Pairing it with the navy sundress was a good call for a professional brunch or luncheon. A knee-length sundress, especially one with a structured top and flowing bottom like this one, is a great choice for this kind of occasion because it is simple, elegant and comfortable in the heat.

For her hair and accessories this Fashionista kept it classy by pulling half of her hair up so it was out of her face and wearing little jewelry. By wearing small pearl earrings, a dainty necklace and a single bracelet, she didn’t distract from the detail in her dress yet it was still enough to add to her overall look.

One Simple Change: After the brunch, you can simply take off the blazer and you’re ready for a date night. A sundress is great for a summer evening date because it’s cute and girly. If you are going to a movie, dinner or a walk at the park, then this detailed dress and flats are sure to make your date’s head turn.
