WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

What to Wear

If Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl has taught us anything, it’s that there is no meal quite as classy as brunch. That being said, not everyone wants to get all dolled up on a Saturday or Sunday morning. When you want to look flirty and feminine like this Fashionista, try an outfit that’s – to borrow COVERGIRL’s tagline – easy, breezy, beautiful.

When I think brunch, I think windows – natural light, lots of flowers and an overall happy essence. Why not wear an outfit that reflects the same things? This Fashionista chose a full-on floral ensemble, perfect for a morning meal with friends. My favorite element of this outfit (and an emerging spring trend!) is her eye-catching wide-leg pant from Forever 21. Why wear a skirt when you can wear pants that look like a skirt? This Fashionista will be comfortable and relaxed while still looking sophisticated. She complemented her statement trousers with a lacey crocheted crop top. This solid-colored top is the perfect balance for the conversely busy bottoms and, not exposing too much skin, adds a lot of class to the outfit. To top off her look, this Fashionista chose pastel-flowered Keds, a much more comfortable alternative to sandals or heels.

Not every meal has to be treated like you’re on the Upper East Side dining with S and B. Sometimes you can look elegant without the glitz and glam. It’s not often you can dress up sneakers, so seize the opportunity and try a look like this Fashionista’s when you’re headed to brunch! XOXO

One Simple Change: Swap the flowing pants for a high-waisted circle skirt and you’re ready to meet your boyfriend’s parents!
