WHAT TO WEAR: Braving a Floridian February

As we welcome back a new spring semester here in Florida, most of us start to notice the changeable temperatures that arrive with it. With highs of 75 and lows in the 40s, it can be a challenge picking out a perfect all-day look. I’m sure you’ve heard it time and time again: layers. Seriously, layering your outfit will make the day much more comfortable for you. Lately, I’ve been patting myself on the back for wearing a cardigan and short sleeve to class, as the walk can be chilly and the lecture hall a sauna. That’s exactly what this Fashionista did with her outfit as I caught her on the way to the library.

She pairs a soft nude V-neck with a forest green hooded jacket. The jacket is semi thick; just enough to fight the slight winter we experience down south. As she hits the midday sun, she can play with the versatility of the V-neck on its own with an off-the-shoulder look to show off a lacy bralette. The distressed jeans keep the outfit trendy and cool enough for the warmer parts of the day. Of course, the statement choker and leather booties give this outfit its finishing touches.

This simple yet chic look for class is exactly what I love seeing when I walk around campus. I definitely believe that if you look good, you feel good too. I find that I pay more attention in a lecture and feel more productive during the day when I’m wearing a cute outfit or have my makeup done.  If you feel like you’re hitting that mid-year slump, try adding a new necklace or pair of shoes to your wardrobe and wearing them to class! It’s a great way to pick yourself up and ring in the new year!
