“Happy Birthday!!!” to you Fashionistas/os, whose birthday might be today. Have an absolutely wonderful day and remember: our birthday should be about celebrating the day we were born to become fabulous Fashionistas/os—not about dreading the possible “lines” that might be developing. Mark Twain said, “Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been.”
For some, it seems that once we reach that much anticipated 21st birthday, any after that are accompanied by thoughts of “getting old” and getting “crow’s feet.” Stop! We’re way too young for that! (And if Mark Twain isn’t convincing enough, luxury brands like Chanel create little miracles like the Ultra Correction Total Eye Lift Cream.) So this birthday, take after this Fashionista; dress up, head out and celebrate the day you became wonderful.
I love to see Fashionistas and Fashionistos on campus choosing a statement piece to stand out and express their own style. A long and chunky necklace was a great choice to go along with this beauty’s black and white ensemble. It’s fun and fashionable and gives a visual cue that she’s ready to go out and celebrate her special day.
The skater skirt has been a great item to have this year—easily transferring from summer to fall and even into winter. Leather, nylon, cotton, black or white, skater skirts are here to stay. This Fashionista’s white skater skirt from NASTY GAL has an embossed floral-like detailing all over and is paired with a crop top with intricate cutouts along the bottom. Although it’s black and white, there is nothing basic about this outfit.
So, of course we all want to look young and fresh and stay fabulous forever; and yes, it’s very important to take care of our skin. But don’t fret about your age! Celebrate your special day and just slather on some night crème when you get home.
One Simple Change: With weather getting chilly in most areas, you might want to wear something on your legs. Add a pair of tights to your outfit or if you’re daring and want to be a little more edgy, find an adorable pair of those over-the-knee socks!
