WHAT TO WEAR: Back To School

It’s time for classes to start again and although that unfortunately means getting back into the routine of classes and cram sessions, it also means it’s time for you to show off your college style once again.

While whizzing by on my scooter on my way home from class, I spotted this Fashionista. I immediately loved her patterned scarf, tan peacoat and combat boots. So even though I felt super creepy, I had to pull over and talk to her about her sense of style.

This ensemble is an excellent example of the perfect back to school look. She is wearing a button-down shirt under her coat, which makes her look very studious and polished. She pairs it with a beautiful patterned scarf, which is great because even when she takes off her coat in class, her outfit will still be an A plus. The scarf is the focal point of the outfit; it really catches your eye and brings more color and detail into the look.

What I really love about this Fashionista’s outfit is her tan peacoat. The peacoat is great for going back to school for many reasons: it keeps you warm, it can be dressed up or down and it automatically makes your outfit actually look like an outfit. When you add a classic coat like this, you look put together and ready to take on your day.

The coat is also very versatile. You can pair it with jeans and a scarf, like this Fashionista did, or even wear it over a dress with some heels. It’s a great day to night piece of clothing that you’ll be sure to get a lot of use out of.

Last but not least, this Fashionista added combat boots to her back to school style. I love this because it gives the outfit a little edge and I think it really lets her inner style and personality shine through. Expressing yourself through your clothes makes your attire so much more interesting and really gives your style an extra kick!

One Simple Change: There are several small adjustments you could make to this outfit for a completely new look. If you swapped the jeans and boots for some slacks and ballet flats, you could easily be ready for a job interview or internship.
