WHAT TO WEAR: Back To School

It’s that time of year again! It’s time to put away your denim cut-off shorts, flip flops and crop tops and dig into your school attire, which probably consists of mostly jeans and casual T-shirts. Don’t get me wrong, I love a simple T-shirt and jeans. They are comfortable and chic. However, it doesn’t hurt to look stylish while taking notes at your first 8:00 a.m. lecture on a Monday morning.

I get it, though. Who wants to take the time to dress up at such an early hour? The answer is not most people. This Fashionista, however, has an outfit that is quick and easy to throw together. Without being overpowering, her white top has subtle black stripes that add texture to the outfit as a whole, and her classic blue jeans help the outfit obtain a more casual look for class. In addition, her suede black booties have a small, chunky heel to give her outfit a chic component. These are perfect for school because she’ll be able to walk from class to class without killing her feet.

But what’s an outfit without accessories? To me, every outfit is like a recipe for success, so to tie this Fashionista’s look together, she wears an asymmetrical statement necklace from LOFT and a rose gold watch from Fossil. These are simple, classy additions that will bump up her look to the next level. Hanging on her arm is a brown leather bag that is perfect for storing school items. Her bag is from Dooney & Bourke, but you can find a cheaper version of this item here. Who said you can’t look good while learning about engineering or entrepreneurship?

One Simple Change: All done with classes for the day and rushing to grab dinner with your girls? Let your hair down and swap out your blue jeans for classic black skinny jeans. Slip on your favorite open toed heels, and don’t forget to paint your toes (a must-have nail polish color in the fall)!
