Summer is officially here, Fashionistas! I’m sure you are all excited to be able to relax and soak up the sun in style. Be it by pool, lake or sea, all you need is a body of water and a few simple wardrobe staples in order to make the most of your summer.
Lucky for me, I spotted this barefooted Fashionista by a local beach looking effortlessly cool in a breezy ensemble with a boho feel. What first drew me to her was her big floppy hat. Using different headwear is a fun and fashionable way to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays this season. I love how she opted for a simple black hat to juxtapose the various patterns and textures throughout the rest of her outfit.
During these hot summer months it might seem difficult to find pieces that you feel both cool and on trend in. Choosing lightweight fabrics and and lighter colors can play a key role in selecting your outfits. This Fashionista chose a pair of drawstring linen pants to wear as a cover-up, which are perfect for catching the breeze and staying cool during a day at the beach. Instead of a regular shirt, she covers up her brightly patterned swimsuit top with a fringed crochet vest. She completes the look with an eclectically patterned patchwork bag, Ray-Ban sunglasses and a small array of bracelets.
One Simple Change: With a few tweaks, you can transform this outfit from one perfect for a day at the beach, to a casual outfit for class. Simply lose the vest and throw on a cropped T-shirt, trade the floppy hat for a smaller straw one and add your favorite pair of flat sandals.
