WHAT TO WEAR: Art Appreciation

Here at the University of Florida, you can see a student clad in sorority gear and another student trekking through the heat in flip flops and a maxi dress walking past each other. There’s never really one right answer to what you should wear to a particular class or an event that you’re planning to attend.

This Fashionista’s polka-dot printed dress drew me in instantly. Anyone who knows me knows that I love anything with polka-dots, so it was a great conversation starter. What fascinated me most about this outfit was how well it fit the occasion and how simply it was to put together. This Fashionista had an art presentation beforehand, but despite limited time, wanted to look presentable and fashion forward. Whether you are displaying your personal art or just presenting another artist’s, dressing well showcases class and confidence, as fashion is a form of art in and of itself. However, this doesn’t mean it has to be difficult. One pieces like dresses and rompers, especially printed ones, are easy to throw on and look infinitely more polished in a fraction of the time.

When it comes to pairing your outfit with the right pair of shoes, in the words of the great Demi Lovato,”Who says I can’t wear my Converse with my dress?” I love the fact that dresses aren’t limited to wedges or heels, but can rather be played down with a pair of sneakers or flats. These white Converse are classic, and they add the perfect element of girl-next-door cred.

You can dress to impress for every occasion by maximizing the pieces in your wardrobe, while still having the time to grab your morning latte.(It’s PSL season after all!)
