WHAT TO WEAR: A Winter Wonderland

The weather outside is definitely frightful now that December has hit. And for most of us, that means dragging out our winter coats, gloves and heavy scarves. Now that I go to school in a city that participates in all four seasons, aka not California, I can actually wear chunky sweaters and jackets. My California Fashionistas say I’m lucky to layer my winter accessories, but now it is just a necessity so I don’t freeze to death. When in comes to winter fashion, I have learned that the clothes you wear to stay warm don’t have to be boring. In my everyday look, I usually wear all black, but I was inspired by this Fashionista to add some more color to my wardrobe.

This Fashionista always catches my eye when I see her in her cute fashion forward outfits. She loves to stay trendy while also making it appropriate for the weather. First of all, her army green coat is a beautiful color that stands out from the sea of black coats in the streets. The fur lining on the hood is the icing on the cake to winter fashion. Under her coat she wears a cream sweater and a plaid blanket scarf, which I especially love because you can wrap it around yourself in class like a blanket, perfect for those early morning classes. Her skinny jeans and tan booties are perfect staples to wear with any winter look. The statement necklace and gold rings tie the look together so she even is fashionable when she is indoors with her coat off.

The moral of this outfit is, as long as you have some good basics in your closet, you can spice up your everyday look with different scarves and jackets to make your outfits stand out from the rest.
