Winter has been mild on campus. It is a great opportunity to store your boots on the shelf and put on some oxfords or flats. A pop of color brightens up any outfit. The burgundy patent oxfords pair well with Holly’s neutral look. It would have the same effect on monotone colored clothing as well.
Holly’s clean haircut works perfectly with her blonde hair. This is the second time I have seen a stylish short haircut on girls – a great option for Fashionistas who need inspiration for their next hairstyles. The camel pea coat associates well with her black lace-patterned scarf and black leather gloves. Her boxy-cut satchel gives the outfit a more vintage look.
This outfit sets a good example of how to pair brown with black. This is the part of fashion that attracts me the most – there are no rules and boundaries on how to dress yourself as long as you are confident in what you are wearing.

CollegeFashionista: I like your haircut. Where did you get it done?
Holly McGraw: I got it at the small salon on campus. It’s right around the corner on Northwestern Ave. by Subway.
CF: Where do you normally shop?
HM: I usually go to American Apparel and thrift stores. I like vintage clothing.
CF: Is this what you normally wear to classes?
HM: Yes, I think so. Sometimes people think I am too dressed up, but I feel very comfortable in these clothes.
CF: Do you like shopping online?
HM: Not at all. I can’t try stuff on and I don’t like to wait for the packages to arrive.
CF: What is your favorite color?
HM: I like to wear gray. When it comes to drawings, I like to use dark blue and red.
How To: Holly’s oxfords add a nice pop of color to the entire outfit. The patent crimson red goes well with most of winter clothing and can still be carried into the spring. These Madewell Dustbowl Oxfords look very chic and these Dolce Vita Mini Oxfords with pink soles are very popular lately. Holly went for a military skinny pant here which complemented with her beige coat. You can easily find those pieces from H&M, Zara or Forever 21. An interesting alternative to the coat would be a cape coat. It is the hot trend this season. If you like this style, try an oatmeal minimal cape. Top it off with your favorite scarf and a Cambridge Satchel — you are good to go.
