With the cold weather finally settling in, its begining to look a lot like Christmas. And what better place to be around Christmas time then New York City? Luckily, we have the best of season. With Fordham’s the antique churches, the ornamented buildings, and, of course, the beautiful wreath hung annually on the Keating bell tower, the Christmas season on campus is nearly as wonderful as Christmas in the Big Apple. However, one thing thats missing (unless Eddie’s freezes over) is an ice-skating rink. But, Fordham has solved this dilema by hosting a series of ice skating excursions to the winter-wonderland that is Bryant Park.
Grab your friends, some hot-cocoa, and an eyecatching jacket and hit the ice. With such picturesque surroundings and masses of skaters huddled on the rink, stand out in brightly colored or patterned outerwear. This Fashionista combined a mix of this winter’s most popular trends into one jaw-dropping, but functional, ensemble. Her bright purple pea-coat stood out amongst the rest of the students walking to class, catching my eye. And if her jacket didn’t prove this Fashionista to be fashion-savy already, she complimented the bright hue with patterned black tights, black flats, a neutral infinity scarf and gloves, and a black oversized hobo-bag. JCrew has incredible colored pea-coats this season- reds, purples, and greens stand out the most. Decorate your outerwear with scarves and mittens that play up the color of the jacket. Neutrals, like beige, brown, off-white, and black are perfect additions to a loud coat. Anthropology‘s accessories are always intricate, elegant, and flattering.
Stay warm and enjoy the ice!
