WHAT TO WEAR: Festival Flirty

Spring is finally here! Sunny skies, blooming flowers, and cool temperatures; truly the best time of the year! When spring has sprung, so do the next biggest fashion trends that segue into summer. Here at the George Washington University, our spring fashion is current festival wear.

With Spring Fling just right around the corner, campus is as lively as ever. As soon as the sun comes up, the students are out! The one quad we have is filled with students playing frisbee and tanning. This is also the best place to spot the coolest styles. This Fashionista, for example, was rocking the festival look while spotted in University Yard before our own campus fest.

Imagine, laying on the grass with a towel listening to some live and local bands with your best friends. Sure, it isn’t Coachella or Bonnaroo, but it is the celebration of the semester ending and the fun beginning. This Fashionista took advantage of the nice weather and rocked an ivory, cutout skater dress.

The dress’s chic design and cutout in the midsection transforms the dress from casual summer wear to a bold festival and party look. Of course the dress, from Tobi, may not be the best choice for when the sun goes down. But, have no fear with this lilac pink Michael Kors bag. The tote is big enough to pack a cardigan or light jacket to keep you warm while not being a total drag to carry around. Of course, what better way to bring in May than with pastels! This Fashionista accented the ivory dress with the tote and sunglasses of the same shade.

So maybe you’re not walking around as much as you want at the festival. Anything can be better than wearing heels sometimes. You just want to sit on the lawn, enjoy the breeze, and dance to some tunes with your pals. These warm weather Style & Co sandals offer a neutral look that can be worn with virtually anything during the warmer months. Plus, they’re lightweight!
