WHAT TO WEAR: Cap and Cloud(s)

May 10th, 2017 at 2:00am

I cannot believe that it is already May! Where does the time go? I definitely had a blast being a part of the CollegeFashionista Style Guru family this semester. My last campus look had to be something perfect, so I looked all around until I came face to face with this. At first glance it seems like nothing special, but I might have been drawn to the shiny glasses.

Since it is May, college graduations are coming up. I tried to make my title a play on “Cap and Gown,” but maybe I’m the only one who understands my corniness. Anyhow, this outfit is definitely worth spotlighting. My previous post was about the in between weather, and I was super excited to get an outfit for hotter weather this time around. However, the weather on Long Island has been all over the place. One day I see everyone in shorts and the next day we’re bringing the Ugg boots back out.

One of the nice things about this look is the classic black bomber jacket. Not only does it add an edgy touch, but it also keeps this Fashionisto warm. The weather started off warm that day and got cooler throughout, so he definitely made the right decision in carrying his jacket around. Underneath he has a blue plaid shirt buttoned all the way to the top. This is a look I’ve been seeing some people try out, but not many people stick with it. It’s definitely this Fashionisto’s signature look.

His bottoms are dark jeans, which he labeled his go-to. He said he chose to focus more on the top because you can honestly wear the same jeans twice in one week and no one would notice. The shoes are his favorite pair of Jordan sneakers which says a lot because he said he owns quite a few pairs. Of course, he couldn’t forget his backpack for all of his overpriced textbooks.

The highlight of the outfit has to be the cap and glasses. It’s evident that the sky is cloudy, but caps are a great accessory to hide bad hair days. The simple design of this OVO hat doesn’t overpower or take away from the outfit. Although the sun wasn’t out, he was still rocking sunglasses with pride. Realistically, he had them in his shirt pocket and I asked him to put them on for the picture. He then proceeded to give me the most serious pose he could.

Fingers crossed for more sunny days so we can actually pull out the sunglasses.
