5 Ways To Add Turmeric To Your Skincare Routine

This power isn’t just great for your insides. Turmeric is packed with beauty benefits for both skin and hair. The active ingredient in turmeric, curcumin, contains high antioxidants levels and is an anti-inflammatory, meaning it works to fight acne, uneven skin tone, and even on fine wrinkles.

Turmeric Beauty Benefits:

Basic Turmeric Mask

What you need:

  • Teaspoon of turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons flour or ground oats if your skin is dry
  • 3 tablespoons milk or plain (greek) yogurt to fight acne
  • A few drops of honey

Mix ingredients to make a paste, applying thin layer to your face and let it dry for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, scrubbing gently in circular motions to remove.

 

Hydrating Turmeric and Egg Mask

What you need:

  • A pinch of turmeric
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Mix egg yolk, turmeric and oil to make a paste. Apply to the face and let it dry for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

 

Glowing Turmeric Face Scrub

What you need:

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 3 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3 teaspoons almond milk

Mix ingredients together and massage over clean, damp skin working upward in small circles. Rinse thoroughly and follow with moisturizer.

Glowing Turmeric Mask

What you need:

  • 1/2 tablespoon turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons mashed banana
  • 1/2 tablespoon honey

Mix ingredients and apply paste to face. Let sit for approximately 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

 

Turmeric Acne Mask

What you need:

  • 1/2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Organic apple cider vinegar
  • Milk

Apply apple cider vinegar to a cotton ball and swipe on skin surface. Wait about five minutes before you apply the mask.

Mix turmeric and honey and apply to face. Let the mask sit for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with warm water. If the turmeric powder leaves a yellowish tint on the skin, use a milk-soaked cotton ball to remove stained areas.
