I am a firm believer that it takes ten times more time to look like you’re not wearing makeup. I’m not the kind of girl that is confident enough to walk out of my room without eyeliner. Seriously. I tried that a few times and people told me I “looked tired” so frequently that I realized it was just code for “what happened to your face?” I have been so jealous of the girls who can just wake up in the morning, throw on a pair of jeans and a blouse and head to class.
I started to wonder — are they really just that lucky? Then, this fall and winter, as the ethereal trend appeared on runways at shows like Doo Ri, I started getting more jealous. Now these lucky ladies were being rewarded by being on trend?! When I saw this Fashionista, she was walking down the street with a bright face. It wasn’t just her magnetic smile that struck me, but her ethereal beauty. This Fashionista was clearly in study mode, as she was wearing a pair of black leggings and a navy Polo sweater. Her colorblocked boots were awesome, and added a little color to her outfit.
After I met this Fashionista, I started thinking about how I could make the ethereal look work for me. Yes, it would take me more than my typical five-minute makeup routine, but beauty is pain, isn’t it? I scoured the web and learned a few tricks. Sticking to pearly, pale colors is the trick to mastering the ethereal look. You never want dark, garish shades. Wear a light brown or muted pink on your eyes, like Vapour from M.A.C.. Pair it with basically any color from Dior's Rouge Nude line. Be sure to keep your hair soft and flowing like the angel that you are sure to be.
If you follow these tips, you too can achieve this ethereal look. Hey, we can’t all be confident enough to walk outside sans makeup!
