FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Chasity Vo

Fashionista Spotlight

After an early morning class I caught this Fashionista looking sophisticated and feminine in a purple jacket. Spring may be approaching, but mornings are still as cold as ever. So my fellow Fashionistas, layer up if you decide to break out your cute spring dresses.

Who: Chasity Vo

Major: Psychology

Year: Junior

College Fashionista: What are you wearing today?

Chasity Vo: My dress and jacket are from Nordstrom, my studded flats are from H&M, the owl necklace is Forever 21 and I belted the dress with a string from another shirt.

CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?

CV: I love H&M, especially since it’s a budget-friendly store; but I go to Nordstrom to buy nicer things that I want to last.

CF: What is something you’d never wear?

CV: Boyfriend fit jeans! They’re cute, but just an awkward fit on me!

CF: Does anyone else’s style inspires yours, and why?

CV: I love Florence from Florence and the Machine, she wears a lot of lace and sparkly outfits.

How To: Start out with a cute lace dress! You can definitely see that this Fashionista channeled her fashion muse, Florence, with a lace dress. A white lace dress with a simple belt around the middle gives you a sweet and sophisticated appearance. She wore tights under her dress, but now that the weather is warming up and the sun is coming out, don’t be afraid to flaunt your legs on campus! Her studded flats were my absolute favorite part of her outfit (actually, anything with studs are my favorite). This trend can be carried into spring, but keep it toned down to shoes and accessories. Remember that it’s spring and looks tend to lighten up around this time, so you can start straying away from dark colors and bringing out the pretty pastels! Instead of a pea coat you could also try a denim jacket that’s lighter weight for the spring and the’re great to layer over your outfit for chilly mornings. Also accessorize with this amazing bracelet, or make it a DIY project. Flats are great for school, but you can also try some strappy sandals or wedges, depending on where you are going. I love Steve Madden sandals, and Seychelle’s heels because they’re perfect to pair with frilly or lace dresses for spring.
