After my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and a freshman PR student at Hofstra University, I have decided to pursue my career aspirations with a Fashion PR internship in New York City. I will be continuing the internship I had this past spring throughout the next couple of months at Cameo Public Relations, a boutique agency that specializes in emerging accessories designers and brands in midtown. We work with some of the biggest magazine editors in the industry, and it’s so amazing to be a part of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into a fashion spread or styling session. Not to mention, Cameo’s showroom is without doubt the cutest space in all of Manhattan.
I couldn’t be more excited to be living in one of the greatest fashion capitols of the world for 10 weeks with an unlimited amount of opportunities at my fingertips. Living around the NYU campus just a few blocks away from Union Square, I’ll be able to capture and report the amazing street fashions of young NYC, as well as passion-driven college students and interns for CollegeFashionista’s newest column, PASSIONISTA/O SPOTLIGHT!
I’m currently obsessed with light chiffon maxi dresses and soft floral prints. It’s an effortless take on vintage glam that’s comfortably accessible for any day to night affair. The dress worn in the photograph is Jessica Simpson, the rose headband is from Urban Outfitters and the black leather bag is Colour Me, an amazing and affordable accessories site where you can shop for items specifically by color. I can’t wait to take risks this summer with fashion, especially in the city where the possibilities are endless.
