Thanks to global warming, students in New England have been enjoying a mild fall so far. Recently temperatures have been in the mid-60s, calling for outfits that cater to fall trends while still appropriate for the warmer weather. This Fashionista pulls it off with a lace dress paired with knit socks, creating a cozy but crisp look.

CollegeFashionista: How do you describe your personal style?
Kelsey Kawana: lace, floral patterns, high-waisted everything. prints are a big part of what i wear. my wardrobe is half vintage/ thriftstore/ mom's old clothes, a quarter anthropologie, and a quarter cool stuff i find when i travel. what i put on reflects where ive come from and where ive been.
CF: What are your favorite items to wear?
KK: At the moment im really into long, flowing pants.
CF: How do you navigate dressing during transitions from one season to the next?
KK: The same advice for staying warm: layers. to be honest, im wearing a lot of spring/summer/fall pieces right now, just matching them up with thick tights, boots, scarves, hats, and coats.
How To: Use lace as a transitional fabric. Pair a dress, skirt or shirt with knit socks and a jacket. You will be ready to transition from warm to cold weather in no time.
