The punk movement started in the 1970’s and it’s still a statement in fashion industry. I’m particularly not into punk music, but the skulls and bones really call my attention. Everyone who is not into fashion asks me why do I like it so much, and now writing this post I started to wonder about it, and why lots of people like it also. That being said, I thought of the memento mori (remember your mortality) – that’s what the skulls represents and that fascinates me. In my opinion , it is something that we have to be aware of.
Now, talking about what matters, this Fashionista highlights that the accessory is breathtaking and unusual. It’s like a hand seen in an X-ray, and the “fingers” are rings, and the fist is a bracelet. The best thing about it is it wasn’t bought – it is her friend’s project for a Styling subject in our college. Although, don’t freak out, we Fashionistas and Fashionistos, always figure out how to adapt unique objects and find something that works like the one shown. You can look for a multi link hand chain, either with lots of rings attached to a bracelet or only one ring attached. They are in now so it’s easy to find them. Also, if you are not so bold, you can wear a delicate necklace with skulls pendants, or small skull accessories.
Nowadays, you see knucle rings almost everywhere and I thought they were uncomfortable, because it seems that you can’t move your fingers separately, but in fact they are really anatomical in the sense that they fit the hand very naturally. That is another good idea to substitute the ring/bracelet and also have on a nice, contemporary accessory.
If you also have a talented friend who does amazing things, don’t be afraid to ask him/her to borrow some of his/her works. This Fashionista wasn’t afraid to ask and look how it turned out!
