The Formula for the Perfect #OOTD

May 19th, 2016 at 2:00am

Scrolling through your Instagram feed, it seems like every blogger, celebrity and random girl from your sorority is posting an #OOTD. (That’s outfit of the day for you non-abbreviating folks out there.) As you double tap and screenshot, you find yourself saying, “Ugh, I wish my look was as #RAD as [fill in the blank].”

Creating an enviable #OOTD is lot easier than you think. With a few quick steps, you too can have a look that garners more than just a few “likes.”

Check out our simple formula for creating the perfect #OOTD.

Start with your favorite piece, forgotten treasure or a garment in your closet that screams “pick me, pick me!” on that given day. (Photo via @carlytice)

Throw on a pair of Stan Smiths with whatever you are wearing. Jeans, shorts, trousers, skirts—trust us, it works. (Photo via @pendasarr)

Don’t forget the little details. Delicate jewelry may not be bold by nature, but is a crucial component of any perfect #OOTD. (Photo via @indiesunsblog)

Top your look off with a carefree hairstyle that screams “effortless,” but inside you are saying “it took me seven tries to get this topknot.” (Photo @itstrendychelsea)

Don’t let your hard work and super #RAD look go to waste (because if you don’t take a picture did it actually happen?). Find the nearest mirror and snap a selfie to share with your besties and other random followers on social media. (Then be sure to tag @CFashionista to let us grab a glimpse of our #OOTD as well!)
