STYLE GURU BIO: Tere Cortes

Style Guru Bio

I am very happy to be back for the spring 2013 Style Guru team. It’s been a pleasure to write about what I love and to have the opportunity to express my point of view from what I consider to be fashionable.

I am writing from Lima, Peru right now. I came to study an Art class abroad for the winter break, even though it is summer here in Peru! Travel is one of the things that inspires me in a lot of different ways. As a student, I think traveling is the best thing you can do. I love to learn about different cultures, the economy and, obviously, the way people dress in another country. It is amazing how trends travel so fast these days. For example, I can find see-through dresses, high-low skirts and metal studs in everything here at a mall in Lima.

This semester will be interesting because it is my last semester at The University of Texas-Pan American. I will be graduating with a major in Marketing and double minor in Art and French. I hope to pursue my career studying a Master’s Degree in Fashion Marketing in another city, and my ultimate goal in fashion is to become Creative Director of a brand.

Last semester in CollegeFashionista, I was able to make a reflection through my writing and discover things that really matter to me. I feel that I am developing and creating my own opinion in fashion. It is a good way of just letting it go and start writing what I think.

This spring I am going to write WHAT TO WEAR category. From dressing up, to going to study, to going to meet the parents, I am not going to talk only about trends, but, most importantly, I am going to suggest a style that really fits fashionable college students like you and me. Remember what Yves Saint Laurent said: “Fashion fades, style is eternal.”

Again, I am very thrilled to be back to this creative community that is CollegeFashionista; I hope you enjoy reading through all my posts. Feel free to add me in all the social media!
