FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Celina Bernal

Fashionista Spotlight

An outfit is not just random clothes that we put on. It represents our personality and even the way that we think. We are not supposed to judge based on appearance, but our personal appearance is definitely important to be successful in our careers and a key to make an excellent first impression. For me, every day is similar to a job interview. We can run into different people for the first time and they create a whole concept about us in their minds before they get to know us. I was thinking about this the whole day when this Fashionista came in the classroom. One of the first things that got my eye was that she looked polished and clean. In particular, the details that she added to the outfit made her stand out from the rest.

Name: Celina Bernal

Major: Marketing

Year: Senior

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?

Celina Bernal: I am wearing skinny jeans from Macy’s, white Gap shirt and leopard Steve Madden flats. My earrings are Vince Camuto, Michael Kors watch and Lacoste bag. The piece that I am wearing in my ponytail can be also a bracelet!

CF: How would you dress and style for a class presentation?

CB: I would use a blouse and cardigan or if I know that it's not very formal, I would wear something like today. I like to wear my hair back because it looks clean. My makeup should be clean and simple.

CF: What would you wear to an interview?

CB: I would wear a business suit away from the normal. I wouldn’t wear black; I would wear a brown tone color instead and a color blouse, but nothing too bright. Conservative and classic but not boring, I don’t like to be like everybody else.

CF: How do you prepare your outfits for school every day?

CB: I usually double check everything the night before and I always make sure that my clothes are ironed.

How To: You will never go wrong with your everyday outfits if you pay attention to details from head to toe. Everyone should have the classic Gap white shirt that works from casual to formal. Pair them with these hot pink Express jeans. While you transition from summer to fall, you can wear these leopard print Steve Madden sandals or leopard flats. I loved that this Fashionista matched her earrings with the head piece. Here are the Vince Camuto earrings and Goody head accessory for you to try out.

The beauty of being a Fashionista is to be creative and add your personal touches to a trendy look!
