STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Defying the Comfy Norm

Style Advice of the Week

We all have those days where it's dark and cloudy outside and we want nothing more than to sit at home curled up on the couch. These days are often on Mondays and cause extreme laziness amongst students and Fashionistas. We all know that skipping class is a welcome thought. However, you should drag your butt up throw on something cozy and comfy and walk out the door just like this Fashionista.

This Fashionista demonstrates how to dress comfortable, casual and still look fashionable. Instead of wearing the typical Uggs and leggings combo, throw on a pair of motorcycle boots instead. They are still comfortable to walk around in, fit into your favorite pair of leggings or black skinny jeans and they are much more fashionable than the boots with the fur. As this Fashionista demonstrates, throw on a basic white T-shirt over the leggings and then focus on an oversized navajo print sweater. Navajo sweaters are great because all you have to do is throw them on over a basic T-shirt for a trendy and comfortable ensemble.

Because this outfit is quite simple, I would recommend adding a few subtle but chic accessories to your apparel, such as a gold studded iPhone case. iPhone cases are now another way to spice up an outfit in the same way jewelry could. Also note the braided half-pony this Fashionista incorporated into her look. It is a subtle detail that shows a little extra effort on those days you are just dying to be lazy.

Remember: you can still be comfortable and fashionable at the same time. There is a common misconception that dressing like a Fashionista takes too much time or is too much work. It's also effortless at times and comfortable, too! This outfit is extremely easy to replicate and will give you major style points, especially for a dreary Monday.
