ACCESSORIES REPORT: Bow Tie Affair

Accessories Report

Ladies, step back! It’s time for us to stop being selfish and focus on the men! Well at least their fashion, anyway. This June will mark the first annual Men’s Fashion Week LA; the week will be devoted to the latest trends and styles for men, and the logo for this event happens to be a bow tie. After hearing the great news, I figured that there was no better accessory to talk about than a bow tie. Check out this Fashionisto, he is sporting a gold and blue striped bow tie over a basic white button-up from Ralph Lauren, which he pairs with a navy blazer, khaki pants and Sperry Top-Siders. This sophisticated and classy look is perfect for any event. Whether you’re on your way to a job interview, a day at your internship or even a party, it is important to look put together, and like I always say, the best way to do that is to accessorize.

Bow ties are trending this winter and spring more than any other male accessory, and from this Fashionisto’s outfit it’s obvious why! They come in many different styles, patterns and colors, it’s impossible not to find one that fits your wardrobe needs. This Fashionisto’s patterned bow tie even has a personal touch being that those are his fraternity’s colors. If you have more of a neutral based outfit, a bow tie is a great way to upgrade your style by adding bright colors. If you’re looking for something more casual to wear to class, try taking the fanciness down a notch and replace the blazer with a V-neck sweater. I love this look because the V-neck sweater draws your attention to the bow tie and still gives you a refined look. I know it might seem like a big jump for some of you to be daring enough to try a bow tie, but believe me you won’t regret it! So take a risk and check out the amazing bow ties from Vineyard Vines and Beau Ties of Vermont, those are some of my favorites!

Spotted:  Bow ties were  featured in Valentino’s fall 2013 Menswear Fashion Show.
