When it comes to fashion, it can definitely go without saying that Europe will always be ahead of us. While the US might be the number one in Happy Meal sales, we can’t exactly say the same for our sense of fashion. It did not come as a surprise when I found out this Fashionisto is from France while I was interviewing him. Being a fashion student, it’s rare to see a guy on campus in general, let alone as pulled together as this Fashionisto.
Name: Arman Ozdemir
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your personal style?
Arman Ozdemir: I guess I am influenced by music. I listen to a lot of indie bands; I just take a lot of inspiration from them. I’m not really into fashion, I don’t really care. I just wear what I like.
CF: One item you can’t live without?
AO: I don’t know, a Levi Brand Jeans denim jacket.
CF: Since you’re from France, how has moving to Tallahassee changed your style?
AO: I think I might be the only one who wears skinny jeans. There’s a huge gap between style here and style in France. People on campus don’t care, but in France you have a certain class. Here I have a more particular look than in France.
CF: What are your favorite brands?
CF: Do you have any style advice for our readers?
AO: Don’t wear clothes that are too big for you, when you want to dress with class wear clothes that fit you.
How To: It may be because this jacket resembles the color of garnet, one of Florida State’s colors, or maybe just the fact that this Fashionisto makes it look so good, but I am dying over it. If you are too, you can find it here on American Apparel’s site. There’s no denying that this corduroy outerwear is the star of the show, so don’t over power it when trying to accomplish this look. Topman carries a great selection of skinny jeans for men; unchartered territory for some of the fellows out there, but you’d be surprised how good they can look on you. To complete this look check out J.Crew’s assortment of button-ups, perfect for this time of year.
