My name is Rebecca Collins, and I'm a rising senior at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia where I study Fashion Design and Business. When I'm not in the fashion studio, I'm busy snapping the street style fashion of Philadelphia.
My experience in fashion ranges from Moore's rigorous academic program to working at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week and Mercedes-Benz Miami Swim Week. I've worked as a stylist and assistant at Boutiques in Philadelphia, and have have been featured by NBC Philadelphia for style. Most recently, I had the honor of interning with Pitusa in Miami. These experiences have all allowed my personal style and eye for fashion to grow. This will be my fifth semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I couldn't be more excited to show you Moore’s stylish students this fall!
I have a lifetime of style lessons. When I was a toddler, I broke my ankle wearing plastic high heels while running in a grocery store. Lesson learned: don't run in heels. A few years later I stubbornly insisted on wearing a gorgeous velvet dress to an outdoor ballet in July. Lesson learned: dress according to your environment (and sometimes your mom is right). My twenty-one years of trial and error have provided me with the tools to continue developing and enhancing my own personal style, which is the most important thing to all Fashionistas and Fashionistos. You can't buy style, and my goal is to help all my fellow Fashionistas further develop their own individual style, as I further mine.
This fall I'm looking forward to mini skirts, oversized sweaters and seeing your first day of school look.
