I’m Ellen Hoffman, a junior Communications major at Misericordia University and I am thrilled to be joining the Style Guru team at CollegeFashionista. My major and position as Editor-in-Chief of our student newspaper, The Highlander, let me focus on writing and editing as well as photography, which are just a few of my interests. Another big interest of mine is, of course, fashion. My style influences are very simple and girly. I always dress with comfort in mind, but add a touch of feminine flare.
Simplicity is a part of me. I don’t have a flashy bone in my body, so I like to keep my outfits simple and add in a few key elements. For anyone that knows me I have an obsession with bows. Fellow Style Guru, Michele Drago, pointed them out here in a CollegeFashionista post from last winter. I don’t know what it is about bows, but I always feel that they are the perfect accessory. Whether I have it atop my head, Blair Waldorf-style, or a simple silver ring on my right ring finger, bows are found everywhere in my wardrobe.
My girly style is strongly influenced by Lauren Conrad. I love the feminine ruffles and floral patterns that she incorporates into her LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s line. I feel like everything she designs or wears looks so elegant even if it is the simplest piece. That is what I absolutely love — looking put-together no matter what I choose to throw on from my closet.
I’m looking forward to finding the latest trends on Misericordia’s campus this summer. So get those accessories ready for me to spot and I’m sure I’ll be inspired by all of the chic outfits I come across!
