Labor Day weekend provides great opportunities for a quick getaway, a chance to do something fun with your friends and, of course, to wear those whites one last time. Growing up I persistently heard the cliché that one should not wear whites after Labor Day; however, I think modern trends have trumped this outdated rule. Although white is mostly considered a summer shade, it is also incredibly fitting for cool winter ensembles.
I caught up with this Fashionista out in Pacific Beach in her simple yet versatile white summer dress. As this Fashionista demonstrates, the little white dress can be just as fundamental as the little black dress. Paired with her cognac Steve Madden Intyce boots and belt, her dress exudes an almost bluegrass feel. However, she could instantly glam up her look if she chose flats and a chunky bold necklace.
The rose gold Michael Kors watch sported by this Fashionista is another accessory that we watch-fiends have been admiring all summer. Watches are always a good investment for any Fashionista or Fashionisto who's looking to be punctual or dress up an outfit.
Although Labor Day has left Summer 2011 in the dust of our memories, do not stow away your whites! One go-to white piece that I will be wearing all year is my white, silk button-down blouse. Whites are great for making a statement no matter what season you're in, so keep your white pieces ready for fall.
