STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Weak For White Pants

Style Advice of the Week

Spring is about to arrive in our little college town of Davis, California. That being said, it’s time for a little less of the winter wardrobe (jeans and peacoats) and a little more of the spring and summer wardrobe (pastels and maxi dresses).

Although I love maxi dresses and the excuse to wear high-waist shorts, this spring I love all the Capris in store front windows. Capris are the perfect way to start out on top when it comes to spring fashion. There are tons of variations like high-waist Capris or even pleated ankle pants. But when it comes to summer the latest spring trend, white pants take the lead. White pants look clean, smart, sophisticated and most importantly they make the rest of the colors in your outfits pop. Just look at this Fashionista's outfit and you will see why.

The rules for white pants are simple; you just have to be careful. White pants are great for spring because they are light, airy, simplistic and let other colors shine. Like this Fashionista does, try pairing white pants with bright colors like this self tie jade button-up or this striped green and white knit top. Even a neon Sparkle & Fade open back blouse goes with the white pants.

Continue with the color pop when it comes to your shoe selection. If you are looking for comfort moccasins like Minnetonka do the trick. Personally when I wear Capris, I like to go with either laceless tennis shoes or flats that have a little flair like my personal favorite Hego’s Bow Flats.

When spring hits your college campus make sure to invest in a pair of white pants and bright colored shirts.
