STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Two-Tone Stands Alone

Style Advice of the Week

I am completely obsessed with this Fashionista’s jacket for two reasons. The first being its oxblood color. The shade is totally in for fall, and rightly so. It matches with the autumn leaves, it goes great with that fedora you invested in mid-summer and it also makes for the perfect polish choice—check out her nails for proof.

My cranberry craze aside, this coat’s silhouette is really cool. If you get a good look at it, youll see it’s not your average moto. For one, it’s suede, whereas we’re used to seeing these with a bit of leather. But by choosing to tie the detachable belt, this Fashionista’s sporting a double trend. The frock becomes equal parts moto and trench – without the sash, it’s got more edge to it, but with the waist cincher and the softer material, it’s sophisticated chic.

The best part about this piece is that it speaks for itself. Clearly, she didn't need much to get noticied; just a pair of skinnies, sunnies and a contrasting jersey scarf. She completes the look with a pair of loafers, which are my go-to this season (I got mine from Urban Outfitters, and I pretty much wear them everyday).

Since her ensemble is easy enough to recreate, all you need is the right jacket—and luckily you can score the exact same one from Pixie Market. If you love the two-tone, but you’re a firm believer that every biker-inspired piece should have a swatch of leather, try YesStyle. And if you’ve already got a plain black version, you could always layer over a crazy vest from Urban Outfitters. You’ll be warmer, and way more original. Plus, if you’re in the market for a cover up that’ll take you through the next couple of months, why not get a little creative?
