STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: To Be Or Knot To Be

Uncategorized

The ‘90s are back. Although I’ve been a little skeptic about it (too many years judging my mother’s looks on photographs, I’d say), rainbow hair and denim jackets eventually changed my mind. Which brings me to a late ‘80s-early ‘90s trend I didn’t think I’d see again but in 90210 marathon: the knotted tee. Or do you find this object useful?

Knotting it up — the easiest trick of styling ever — has made a major comeback these past seasons. Whether in Kristen Stewart’s new-grunge approach or in Alexa Chung’s basic manners, the knot brings a little messy, relaxed flair to your ensemble.

Today’s Fashionista knows it. Wearing a flowered-printed sleeveless shirt as the key piece of her ensemble, the knot, along with studded sneakers, turns rebellious what would’ve been a girly-girl look otherwise. A leather satchel and a delicate, coin-shaped necklace make sure her bohemian vogue is not left behind.

Tie the knot of a NASTY GAL oversized chiffon shirt, or of a worn out Urban Vintagers tee, and casually turn your look cool. Would you rather knot?
