Everyone is supposed to have a classical pair of blue jeans in the wardrobe. What happens if you have too many? Put your hands on the water and tie dye your denim! We might think that this trend was left with the hippies in the past '60s and '70s, but designers like Isabel Marant have shown on the runway that tie dye clothes came back to be a must have for this season.
At least 9 out of 10 students tend to wear classic blue jeans around the campus, so when I saw this Fashionista wearing grey and white tie-dyed jeans I soon decided to talk to her. Believe it or not, she made this pair by herself! To complete the look she added a basic T-shirt, a cropped black leather jacket and white sneakers. She could have easily added other colors or prints to the look considering that the colors on her pants are not too contrasting and subtly tie-dyed.
There is a wide range of colors offered in tie-dyed jeans. If you are still not comfortable with the trend, dive on the bleaching idea with a pair of classic blue denim and after that try on red, green and yellow jeans. If your pants are printed with too many colors, be careful with the other pieces. Remember that the bottom is psychedelic enough for the look, so keep the top neutral in cream shades and avoid all kinds of prints.
Tie-dye can be risky, but easy to match if you keep the other piece simple and neutral. Why don’t you turn your old pair of jeans in a trendy piece for the season?
