The leaves are changing. The temperature is no longer scorching. It’s finally starting to feel like fall on campus, and I couldn’t be happier. Sure, all the upcoming holidays are something to look forward to. But I’m most excited about wearing my fall gear, especially my leather jacket. A motorcycle jacket is definitely a piece that every fashion conscious individual needs, and I was delighted to see this Fashionista rocking hers this week.
This stylish student perfectly mixes transitional pieces to greet the fall weather. Tucked into low boots are high-waist denim jeans cinched with a thin, camel-hued belt. Thrown over a cream blouse is the pièce de résistance, a fitted and cropped leather jacket. The resulting combination is a perfect early fall ensemble. By the way, I am so thrilled to see so many daring students rocking a bright red lip this year!
Though brown and black are classic picks for fall weather, there are so many styles and colors to pick from. This week’s Fashionista is on the petite side, and chose a cropped version so as to not overwhelm her frame. Free People offers this similar option. A great real leather option to invest in is a Vince piece like this. A classic jacket like this one is more budget friendly, and will last for years. For those animal friendly Fashionistas, there are just as many vegan options to choose from. Obey is an awesome brand for faux leather, and I’m currently loving this gorgeous jacket. Even fast fashion retailers like Forever 21 always carry a version of the motorcycle jacket, like this classic option. I would pay to see a courageous Fashionista rock this studded, bright cobalt number. Because it is a staple piece, a leather jacket is among the easiest pieces wear and there are countless ways to style one. Don one to toughen up a sweet dress. Classic black leather looks awesome paired with a sweater and fitted jeans. A motorcycle jacket can even work in an office environment if thrown over a classic pencil skirt and button-down.
Fellow fashion fiends, while the weather limbos as we head towards fall, I can’t think of a more perfect transitional piece than a leather jacket to throw on.
