STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Southern Boys Know Best

Style Advice of the Week

Whenever I go home to North Carolina I am always a little taken aback by the difference in style I see compared to Philadelphia, especially for boys. While I love my northern and southern boys equally—I don’t discriminate—there is something about how the boys from the south dress that gets me every time. So when I spotted this Fashionisto sporting his Clemson orange Columbia PFG with jeans and boots, I was reminded of my love for southern style.

Every North Carolina boy who knows even just a little about style knows that the Columbia PFG is a must-have staple in their wardrobe. Perfect in short sleeves for warmer weather and long sleeves for cold, the PFG is a sporty, more casual version of an oxford shirt. This brings me back to my love for Southern boys; even on days when they are just hanging out and watching football, they are looking pulled together. This is a little different than the graphic T-shirts and hoodie sweatshirts that I tend to see up north (excuse my stereotyping). As an added bonus, one of the best things about the PFG is that it can easily be worn by girls as well. Try it with leggings and boots for a casual “this is my boyfriend’s shirt” look or use it as the perfect cover-up in the summer. The PFG is a must-have for boys in the south and I’m thinking it’s time for everyone else to take note.
