STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Scarf Season

Style Advice of the Week

Even though we are still waiting for a cold front to finally come in, we can still pretend it's cold, right? Scarves are my favorite item of the season because they come in every type of fabric, making them ideal for every type of climate. Since it is scarf season, we Texans can still dress for the holidays with some seasonal scarfs.

My absolute favorite stop for scarves is Urban Outfitters. Luckily, the University of Texas has an Urban Outiftters right on the drag, which ties in conveniance plus adorable fashion. My favorite scarf silhouette of the season is the eternity scarf. It looks super classy and is extra comfortable for the wearer because it can't be pulled in uneven directions. A perfect scarf for the Texas heat would be the Ecote Tapestry Eternity Scarf. It still is warm, yet is made of light fibers and a floral pattern that works perfectly with our Texas winters. To be a little bit more fashionable, try the Urban Renewal Burnout Velvet scarf. Velvet is so hot this year and it gives any outfit a chic touch.

This Fashionista knows how to work a scarf into her comfortable everyday wardrobe. The best way to get the most wear out of this accessory is to stick with a solid neutral for this everyday look. A scarf like this Fashionista has on will never go out of style and will last as a major staple in your closet. An example of this would be a lightweight woven scarf in black.

So bundle up in one of these fashionable scarves and maybe the cold weather will come sooner!

STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Scarf Season

Style Advice of the Week

Finally cold weather in Dallas allows fashion savvy students to wrap their necks in the easiest accessory: the scarf. I ran into this Fashionista on her way to class on a cool day. To add some warmth to her all black ensemble, she chose a Burberry print scarf in a neutral color to complement her colorful flats and tote bag. This Fashionista understands the importance of accessories. Without her scarf her outfit would look incomplete. This Burberry scarf is a wool version of her brown plaid scarf for even colder days. For those of you in Texas where the weather never seems to stay, a lightweight scarf is your best option to throw on for everyday wear. To transition thin scarves from winter to spring, investing in a colorful or printed scarf is a must. This Alexander McQueen scarf is all the rage this season. The pop of color and playful print this scarf could add to your wardrobe makes it a necessary purchase.

Scarves will forever be a staple for CollegeFashionistas everywhere. With so many styles, fabrics and colors to choose from, there can never be too many scarves in your closet waiting to complement your favorite jeans or sweater dress. A style of scarf that has made multiple appearances on the runway this season is the faux fur wrap scarf. This ASOS Faux Fur Snood is fashion forward and affordable. The faux fur adds warmth, comfort and can transition you into a chilly night out. You don’t have to sacrifice fashion to keep warm this winter, just invest in fashion forward scarves!

STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Scarf Season

Style Advice of the Week

I was grabbed by this Fashionisto's scarf. He looked comfortable and collected which is what everyone is aiming for when heading to your early morning class. It was no wonder that he wrote for the fashion column in our very own FSVIEW. Scarves are used for two things: warmth and decoration. This Fashionisto nailed both on this crisp October morning. He creates a monochromatic effect that mix perfectly together. The Florida State student displays other fall colors with his brown belt and fancy shoes. I think for mimicking this look, Gap is key. Think of collaborating store brands like the more urban look of Urban Outfitters with the classic, preppy vibe of Gap and you'll have a chance at this trendy ensemble. Men's colored pants are going to take over fall, so men discover what color is right for you. If you are feeling this Fashionisto's water blue shades, try these. If you're not feeling brave enough that is okay, think brown until spring.

Men, now is not the time to find your inner women when hunting for a scarf. Too many frills and fringe can be a problem when sporting this attire. Color is up to you with many options in store. This preppy houndstooth scarf is just the thing for fall. With its different tones of brown it would be simple to keep the monochromatic look trending. Nothing says fall more than the shoes. The classy loafer like shown on this FSU student is a great detail to ANY outfit. With these dark shades of blue or my other always safe option, brown for scarves or pants, there is no doubt you will be well dressed for fall!
