As we all know, there are few things ladies can’t live without — their purse being one of those key items. Depending on the size of the bag, either we have enough room to barely shove in the essentials or it can be the Mary Poppin’s bag that contains everything but the kitchen sink.
Satchels have to be one of my favorite trends this season. Never have I seen such a versatile purse that can be worn with so many different outfits. During summer, satchels were appearing in bright bold colors but now as winter is quickly approaching the colors are toning down to more neutral shades, such as camel and tan. Coming in a variety of styles including retro, studded, patent leather, structured, frayed and vintage, they can be thrown on over any outfit. Not only is the style a versatile factor, but also the way in which it is worn can change the whole appearance of the look; either simply wearing it over the shoulder or crossing it over your body transforms the outfit.
At school, I often have seen girls carrying large satchels and using them as a trendy alternative to book bags to carry their folders and computer. At night, a small satchel is a great way to hold all the necessities you need for a fun time out (cell phone, key, money, credit card, and of course the touch-up lip gloss).
This trendy Fashionista chose to showcase her satchel over an outfit incorporating another fall trend as well, the mini skirt. Even with the weather getting colder, there is no need to put those mini skirts into hiding. When this tribal print mini skirt caught this Fashionista’s eye at LF, she immediately saw an incredible amount of potential wearing it during every month of the year.
“Mini skirts are a staple in my wardrobe all season long,” she said. “There is nothing cuter than getting bundled up in a mini skirt, leggings, a warm jacket and a scarf (especially accessorizing with Starbucks Christmas cup in hand).”
If you don’t own this “it” bag yet, there’s no need to worry because it doesn’t look like this trend is going to do out of style any time soon!
