Style Advice of the Week

As celebrity stylist Brad Goreski would say, everyone needs to incorporate a little bit of POC. When tackling POC (also known as pop of color), most colors seemed to be overlooked, as we are secretly nervous of styling them the wrong way. But color doesn’t have to be scary! Keep your wardrobe popping with bright, bold essentials that make a statement.

This week’s Fashionista shows us how styling red denim can make an outfit seem effortless yet daring. Colored denim is perfect for dressing up just about any outfit and is just the right amount of POC. I’ve noticed that rich, bold colors tend to look best when paired with neutrals, while eye-popping accessories will enliven even the most basic outfit. For newcomers to the POC trend, be subtle and introduce color in accessories.

Remember– POC is not head-to-toe color blocking. POC is definitely a bold fashion statement while at the same time fun and fashion forward. With the cold weather slowly approaching, try staying away from the dull, monotonous autumnal shades and staying warm in chic outerwear without looking like a box of crayons. These colored pieces are accessible at every store, but it's about how you incorporate them into pieces you already have in your very own closet. Adding a POC is all you need to liven up your wardrobe and will instantly help you stand out from the rest of the crowd.
