STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Playing with Neutrals

Style Advice of the Week

As I was traveling to Boston for the weekend, I was struck by this particular Fashionista's layering of neutral colors. As the weather begins to pick up and get colder up north, layered socks and layered garments are being seen around a lot more.

I was excited by this Fashionista's look because it was simple yet very well put together. Here she is wearing a Gap knitted sweater with a great Madewell jacket to go along with the mix. I think my favorite attribute to the look is the combination of high Free People socks with the beautiful Frye boots. For a casual walk to class, this outfit seems to be the right thing to wear. It's stylish, comfortable and well put together.

If you are wanting to rock a similar outfit like this Fashionista, explore the casual sweaters you have hiding in your dorm rooms and pair them with an interesting textile print. Whether it be a printed scarf, pair of socks or even a headband, it can always be a safe and great attribute to the look. The great thing about neutrals is that the colors can always look good on most skin tones. The shades are also a great alternative to black, white and dark indigos.
