Don’t fret the freezing weather! Look at the snow symbol (you know, the ones on weather.com) as a reason to invest in a warmer wardrobe. It’s time to put away the cotton coats and break out the fur. This Fashionista looks ravishing in her died black mink coat. The '20s style coat is a prized possession she found at a vintage shop she used to work at. Dennis Basso flaunted his fur at New York City’s Fashion Week for fall 2012 and winter 2013 looks. I love his take on a trench coat made of fur. The fabric will make any Fashionista/Fashionisto dressed up for a fancy occasion.
Taking the fur look further, the Fashionista paired the coat with a Wilson leather hat she has been “borrowing” from a friend (she thinks she’s crossed the line of borrowing and has settled into the keeping stage). Marc Jacobs showed off his lovely line of fur hats also at NYFW for fall 2012 and winter 2013.
Not into real fur? No problem! Faux fur is equally fashionable and the options go on forever. Juicy Couture makes this high fashion faux fur coat. Topshop has a lot of faux fur options it’s hard to choose a favorite. ASOS has a lot of faux fur hat options in different styles. I am definitely ordering mine as you read this.
The fur is what drew me into the outfit, but after a closer look I knew I had to write about the shoes. On sale from Karmaloop the shoes are by Jeffrey Campbell (yes you read that sentence correctly). The Jeffrey Campbell collection is outrageous plus this Fashionista says that Karmaloop has great shoe sales.
After gushing about the obvious pieces of her outfit I asked if I could see what she was wearing underneath. The galaxy shirt is from Forever 21. I was blown away. Galaxy patterns are super trendy now and I will be purchasing a galaxy item now knowing I can go to Forever 21 to get one. The awesome gray wrap keeping the Fashionista warm is actually an APC cardigan she turned upside down. This is a trick worth trying with any clothes item.
