Style Advice of the Week

This summer, maxi dresses have taken home the gold as the essential must-have piece. Maxi dresses are flattering by nature for any size or body type, and with so many variations in cut color, and material, they will make your wardrobe a much more exciting place. Whenever I wear one of my own maxis, I instantly feel more feminine and confident, as though a spotlight has been added to my runway. I love it because it is so versatile — perfect for a summer barbeque, but also appropriate for a nice dinner out.

This Fashionista looked poised and cute while walking her adorable fluffy dogs (which, I have to say, serve as a nice accessory to her outfit!) on a cool day in San Francisco. Her outfit consists of a few simple elements which play out into a comfortable but chic look. The typical flowy maxi dress is replaced by a grey monotone ribbed cotton fabric that hugs her curves in a sexy and appropriate way. I absolutely love the silver statement necklace this Fashionista chose. She allowed it to stand out further by pulling her hair back into a clean, low bun. I really like this Free People necklace, which carries a similar tribal look.

She also chose a very fresh-faced look, perfect for daytime, offering a lovely canvas for her unique sunglasses. Sunglass Warehouse makes a pair with a similar frame in different color schemes, inspired by the ones worn by Lady Gaga in her “Telephone” music video.
