It's official. Syllabus week is over. Classes have started and summer break is long gone. But as we cling to the blissful memories of free time and a social life, we can get some final use out of our summer wardrobe before we replace neon crop tops with leather jackets and sandals and bare legs with tights and boots.
This week’s featured Fashionista is a prime example of how to take advantage of all your favorite summer essentials before it’s too late. She begins her look with a beige dress and layers a neon crop top over it for an extra pop of color. She accessorizes with a tribal-like, bronze collar necklace, a couple of rings and a pair of black, cat-eye sunnies. She carries her books in a black and brown, structured purse. She completes the look with a pair of floral print flatforms, an interesting but brilliant addition to her ensemble.
If you’d like to replicate this Fashionista’s look, keep in mind that what makes her outfit so rad is the fact that she paired some unlikely colors and patterns. Don’t be afraid to be bold with your choices. Try some of your favorite summer crop tops over different dresses and skirts. Then throw on a funky pair of printed flatforms and you’re ready to go!
If you have yet to hop on the flatform bandwagon, I suggest it’s time you do. It’s a little late in the game to buy sandals, but there are some awesome sneakers, boots and more in this style. They’re the perfect shoe for those of us that want to add some height without the instability of a smaller heel on these ridiculous St. Augustine cobblestone streets.
