STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Jumpin’ Jumpsuits

Style Advice of the Week

I love a good jumpsuit. That said, I was especially excited when I saw this Fashionista en route to Center City, Philadelphia, wearing a black, strapless jumpsuit and tribal print cardigan. She topped off her look with a thin, waist-cinching brown belt, a Victorian-inspired necklace and brown leather messenger bag. There were many elements that went into the harmony and style of this look. First, the harem pant style of the jumpsuit complemented her figure well and made her look effortlessly stylish. Secondly, the Fashionista’s blend of black and brown was in perfect accordance with colors for fall. And lastly, the single print in the look kept her looking interesting but not busy.

Jumpsuits are on trend this fall. They are an easy piece to have in your closet for the days when you wake up late for class and refuse to go out in your pajamas  — we have all been there before! Throw on a jumpsuit, throw your hair up in a high bun, put on some wedges and you will be out the door and stylish in a matter of seconds.

If you are looking for a good investment jumpsuit, splurge on this one from rag & bone. Top it off with a heavy cardigan like this one from Anthropologie. Feeling a little bolder? Be daring in this beautiful patchwork jumpsuit by Missoni. Tie it all together with a black wedge heel and you will be turning heads in no time.

The number one thing to remember when searching for the perfect fall jumpsuit if fit. Make sure the piece caters to your body and does not bulge and pucker unflatteringly. Follow this Fashionista and Anna Sui’s latest collection for inspiration on how to don the jumpsuit.

STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Jumpin’ Jumpsuits

Uncategorized

What do you get with you mix summer’s must have romper with summer’s must have maxi dress? You get the always trendy jump suit. They say what is old is new again and I couldn’t agree more. This seventies style phenomenon is back with a vengeance. The jumpsuit is one of my favorite trends that not only is prefect in every season, but also ideal for almost any occasion. They can be casual, dressy and even black tie appropriate. Jumpsuits were huge on the catwalk, red carpets and city streets this year.

This Fashionista is absolutely fabulous. From head to toe her outfit mixes pieces that alone aren’t so out of the ordinary but when put together creates something so unique. She starts off with a navy printed jumpsuit. Instead of the typical flipflop or gladiator sandal, this Fashionista wore tan suede moccasins. Accessories can make or break an outfit. This Fashionista’s crocodile embossed clutch makes her outfit extremely versatile. With a quick change of shoes, she is ready for whatever the night has to offer. I love the idea of a day clutch. A big, envelope style can fit all a girl’s essentials. It’s the perfect departure from our everyday cross body bags or hobos.

I used to think that jumpsuits only look good on tall, skinny girls but that could not be farther from the truth. There is a jumpsuit for every shape, figure, height and even age. Jumpsuits are a great substitute for evening dresses. Nowadays, jumpsuits come in fun prints for days or beautiful silhouettes for night. If you’re look for the coverage of a maxi dress with the comfort of a romper, look no further than the jumpsuit. If you’re lucky, your mom still has hers from her college days!
