Style Advice of the Week

As the weather gets colder, I find that it becomes more of a challenge to make my outfits interesting. Fleece lined tights and leather jackets only come in so many colors and I seem to be wearing both of those things on a daily basis. However, over the past year I have started building a larger accessory collection. Every time I see a cute headband, an interestingly printed scarf or faux fur earmuffs I buy them. I'm inspired everyday by fellow Fashionistas about how to wear accessories in a creative way. Worn with staple pieces, these types of winter accessories make a world of a difference when outfits start to feel boring.

This Fashionista feels the same way as I do. I spotted her turban and immediately loved her outfit. The bright colors in the turban pattern pop beautifully against her dark skin. She also chose to pair this bright accessory with a simpler outfit. For the mornings when you have an 8 a.m. class or you accidentally oversleep this is the perfect solution. Throw on basic black jeans and a comfy oversized T-shirt and accessorize with a colored turban. I love this knitted rust turban from ASOS. For more of a classic style, this houndstooth printed turban can be mixed and matched with almost any color. It would look wonderful paired with leather pants and an oxblood coat.

No matter your style, turbans, and all hats or scarves for that matter, are great investment pieces. Growing your accessory collection is one of the easiest ways to ensure that you have the chicest winter wardrobe on campus.
