STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Into Outer Space

Style Advice of the Week

One thing that always pulls in my attention when I'm looking for stylish students at KSU is confidence. Fashionistas who are not afraid to wear something different, love their body the way it is or strut across campus like it’s a runway are my favorites. I loved this Fashionista in particular for her amazing leggings. As she walked outside, I fell in love with her cropped top, starry pants and tough boots. When I noticed that she was wearing bright lipstick I knew that I had to talk to her.

As I got to know her, she mentioned Karmaloop as the source of her velvet leggings. It then occurred to me that more and more companies have been popping up lately to cater to this type of Fashionista; Black Milk is another one that comes to mind. These companies are full of up and coming trends like this galactic print, which is one to watch out for fall 2012.

As we move into fall and winter this year, outer space has a major inspiration source for designers to pull from. Designers such as David Coma and Alexander McQueen have shown collections full of alien-like pieces. Like this Fashionista, you have to be confident to pull off the quirky print but the results will always be amazing. If you feel up to the challenge similar galaxy leggings can be found at Karmaloop. However, if you want to slowly ease into this ultramodern trend, start with small hints of print. A bodysuit paired with a black blazer and skinnies will look sharp. Just remember to take chances and have fun playing with this spacey trend!
