Finals are over and we’re all finally free! Well, at least for a month. I found it quite amazing that during finals week everyone really stepped it up, style wise. I’m not sure if it was the old notion that dressing up will help you perform better, or the fact that everyone had in-class presentations, but either way I’m not complaining. You all looked great!
Amongst the sea of blazers, ties and pencil skirts worn by students anxiously studying note cards in front of Kenan, I spotted this laid back Fashionista. Her effortlessly cool style totally grabbed my attention. Her look is comfortable and casual but without being the least bit sloppy. She begins her look with the basics—an oversized-flannel and a pair of leggings. Over the flannel she sports a camel colored leather jacket. On her feet she wears a pair of combat boots, worn flipped open to reveal a contrasting blue flannel pattern. She completes her look with a collection of eclectic necklaces, a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers and an awesome tribal patterned backpack (not pictured).
What really helped this Fashionista stand out was her awesome hairstyle. She boldly wears a shagged, bleach blonde pixie cut. And, although it may be difficult to see in the photographs, her ends were carefully ombred with a pastel pink hue. The whole thing is to die for! Total hair envy.
So the next time you find yourself overwhelmed with school or work, take the time to dress casual and cool like this week’s featured Fashionista. Dress up a flannel and some leggings with a cool leather biker jacket or even a (faux) fur coat. Add a pair of boots and a radical patterned backpack and you’re ready to take on your work load in style… and comfort!
