While half the country begins their trek into the arctic winter months, here in LA we’re still simply grazing the beginnings of fall. While the sun is still shining bright and the trees keep looking gorgeous with full, colorful flora, temperatures are finally dwindling below the 70s. In California terms, this is our own little version of fall. Sixty degrees on the East Coast may sound like shorts and T-shirt weather, but 60 degrees at USC means student’s bundling up in boots and sweaters strolling through campus. The rest of the country may think we’re crazy, but we can’t help our cold weather thresholds! Personally, I think this is the best time of the year. We Fashionistas get to break out our favorite boots and coziest sweaters without actually having the brave the freezing temperatures most of the country experiences. This Fashionista did just that, donning a perfectly adorable fall ensemble.
I’m an absolute sucker for a classic pair of boots and knee socks, so when I spotted this Fashionista I simply had to snap her photo. She rocks a comfy knit Urban Outfitters sweater over a loose white tank. Her snug sweater and tank drape over a simple pair of black leggings. She tops off her outfit with sleek leather Michael Kors boots and ivory, lace Free People knee socks. She pulls it all together with a leather Brahmin cross-body bag and chic cat-eye sunglasses. Her ensemble is warm and cozy, yet still perfectly styled.
The best part about dressing for this weather is that sweaters and boots are about as comfy as you can get. Loose knit sweaters are key for this look. Try wearing a pull-over knit with a chiffon ballerina skirt , knee-highs and boots. If you’re weather is a little chiller than the 60s, you can always throw on a pair of tights and a printed scarf to keep you warm. Another way to rock this look is wearing a '70s-style, flared out knit sweater over a pair of dark wash skinny jeans or jeggings. Throw on a cozy circle scarf or a fun chunky necklace to spice up the look. You can add in a pair of suede booties or leather over-the-knee boots—either way the outfit will look great. Another great look is rocking a printed, open sweater with a simple white a black tee. You can pair it over leather shorts or sleek black pants for colder weather. Throw on a woven belt and a delicate gold necklace to add in a few fun accesorries. Fashionistas, you’ll be feeling fall the second you throw on any ensemble of this sort. Simply find your perfect sweater and boots, and the rest is a piece of cake. All you have to do is get cozy and comfy and you’re bound to look adorable!
