Tuscaloosa hasn’t seen fall just yet. The leaves are still green, and the sun is still shining. While the weather is still summer-like, the ladies at the University have moved from cut-offs and sandals to a wardrobe full of fall colors and boots. This particular Fashionista caught my eye with an adorable fall-color floral pattern on a three-quarter sleeve dress. Her outfit was the perfect mixture of fall and summer, representing the in-between season we are in! The neutral navy background serves as a canvas for the abstract floral pattern, which has hues of honeysuckle, orchid hush and bamboo. Her leather studded cross-body bag has hints of phlox.
Floral prints were seen all over the fall 2011 ready-to-wear runways. The designers had different spins on floral prints. Miu Miu showed large flower motifs such as lilies and daisies, giving off a soft vibe. Balenciaga staged abstract exotic-looking flowers in mostly primary tones, often pairing them with black tops. Tibi presented flashy florals with dramatic color options such as red. Designers showed florals in a variety of ways this season, giving Fashionistas many styling options.
Finding floral items this season is a cinch! They are flooding the fashion consumer market at every price point and are embellishing about every item of clothing, including accessories! This fall, add a neutral shirt with bright flowers to your wardrobe. If you are a bold Fashionista, I dare you to try all-over prints, as seen with pieces by Goldie London and ASOS. Whichever way you try this trend, you are bound to look fabulous for fall!
