This season is one of the best times of the year, but sometimes fall fashion’s color palette tends to blend in with the changing leaves. One easy way to keep your summer colors present throughout the fall and winter months is through accessories. While it might not be acceptable to wear a brightly patterned dress in November, it is okay to sneak some color in there with things like teal knee-high socks and yellow retro-inspired sunglasses.
Today’s Fashionista used her bright accessories to liven up her ensemble for an unusually warm November day. She started off with a lightweight vintage dress and dark wash denim jacket to act as a canvas for her vibrant knee-highs and sunglasses. She mimicked the pattern on the dress through her hair accessory. It looks like she “hemmed” the dress with a pair of scissors and tied some of the fabric scraps into her hair. This would be super easy to recreate. Just grab a dress that is a little too long from your closet, a thrift or secondhand store, and chop off the bottom. Use the scraps for your next DIY project or simply tie them in your hair like this Fashionista for a grunge twist on a ‘50s pinup look.
Some of my favorite bold fall accessories include this Kelly green Rocco duffle bag from Alexander Wang, these Miu Miu pink glitter cat-eye sunglasses and these on trend orange-red Giuseppe Zanotti suede peep-toe platform ankle boots. Adding any of these accessories to a fall or winter outfit is the perfect way to keep your bright colors around for the season in a subtle way.
